Fazio personally monitors the overall management and scheduling of work during each project, working closely with the owner and contractor. To minimize costly design and construction change, he creates all of his own computer-generated plans. And with a thousand different decisions to make almost daily during construction, Tom Fazio is there every step of the way for each course he creates.
“I scrutinize over every shot, every angle, every concept for each hole,” he says. “It’s so easy now these days to produce a plan, send someone out to the site and implement it. They may come up with a decent product, especially if the property is so good that almost anything done there will be fine. But will it stand the test of time? Did the designer extract everything possible from the site? I try very hard to do that.” |
